PRE-BXR

Building on the popularity of the 500 Series PRE-BX, the PRE-BXR is a full-featured 19″ all analogue dual-channel preamp featuring an API-style input stage and Carnhill transformer output, integrated BAX EQ for subtle sculpting of tones, and a clean, intuitive interface for ease of operation.

Uniquely, The PRE-BX employs an integrated, hard bypass-able Baxandall EQ with independent high-end and low-end controls, perfect for adding natural-sounding top-end sparkle to acoustic instruments, taming overly bright sources or imbuing stereo mixes with natural sheen and weight. The Baxandall circuit offers a simple, effective and highly musical way of gently sculpting the tone at the source in a way that is natural and unimposing, unlike other EQs.

Additionally, a 1:1/3:1 output switch attenuates the output, allowing the Carnhill Transformer to be driven harder at the input stage for colouration on bass-heavy material without overloading your converters.

The front panel provides controls for phase reverse, microphone impedance selector (for low impedance dynamic and ribbon microphones), a +48v phantom power switch and Hi-Z front input DI. The rear panel consists of dual XLR mic inputs, as well as 1/4″ line inputs (the front panel 1/4″ DI input automatically overrides the rear jack input when engaged) and dedicated 5-pin PSU connector.
